Description
The Bestiaire d'amour by Richard de Fournival is on folio 83r-98r; the Response by the lady is on folio 98r-106v. The Bestiaire is illustrated with color paintings in frames, with colored or gold backgrounds. The Response is not illustrated.
This is the copy of the Bestiaire designated A.
The partially illustrated fables of Reynard the Fox (Renart le Nouvel) are on folio 109r-177r. The fables are in verse, with some including musical notation.
This is the Renart le Nouvel manuscript designated V.
The manuscript also includes two other texts by Richard de Fournival: Li Consaus d'amours and Poissance d’amours. It also contains his song. The other 43 texts in the manuscript include the Songs of Adam de la Halle, with musical notation; some other treatises on love; and several religious texts.
