Chameleon
The chamelion is rarely included or illustrated in the bestiary. The text says Camelion non habet unum colorem... (chamelion has not one color...). The artist did not know what a chamelion was, so drew a multi-colored horse with a camel's head. The text uses the Latin name camelion (suggesting camel - lion) to compare this animal to the camel, pard and lion. The owl at the upper left is not part of the camelion story and is probably decorative.
